Canyon View is 7-1 against North Sanpete since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will head out to take on the Hawks at 3:00 p.m. Canyon View is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Canyon View managed to slip by Cedar the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Falcons lost 8-0 to the Reds on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Jeter Sanders was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Sanpete, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Delta 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted against the Rabbits since March 25, 2022.
Bryce Swapp was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. North Sanpete is 2-1 when Swapp allows two or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Swapp was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
Swapp wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
North Sanpete's record is now 4-6. As for Canyon View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Everything went Canyon View's way against North Sanpete in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Canyon View made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
