Terrance Arceneaux helped
Beaumont United (Beaumont) make a little history Friday night, hitting buzzer beaters at the end of regulation and overtime to help bring home the school's first high school basketball state championship in Texas. See the video above for both of Arceneaux's dramatic shots.
Beaumont United (31-0), which opened its doors in 2018 after a merger between two other Beaumont schools, wound up outlasting perennial power Kimball 71-70 to win the Class 5A crown at the Alamdome in San Antonio. Needless to say, Arceneaux – a 6-foot-7 junior – was named most valuable player after tallying 24 points, nine blocked shots and seven rebounds.
Entering Friday night's title tilt, Arceneaux was averaging 20.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.9 blocked shots and 2.5 steals per game according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps.
Arceneaux is the No. 111 prospect in the Class of 2022 according to 247Sports. Houston, LSU and Texas A&M are among eight early offers.

Terrance Arceneaux connects on a three-pointer over two Kimball defenders at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime.
