Elder (Cincinnati) basketball coach Joe Schoenfeld won his 300th career game in a 61-54 overtime win over host St. Xavier in the regular-season finale Feb. 18. Schoenfeld, who has a record of 300-157 entering this upcoming week, is in his 20th season of coaching the Greater Catholic League South division program. With the win, Schoenfeld tied J. Walter Bartlett in second place on the all-time basketball wins list at the school. Paul "Hans" Frey earned 383 wins in his coaching career.
