Paramus Catholic (Paramus, N.J.) had assert itself as the top team in New Jersey,
St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.) sent a loud reminder that it is a three-time defending state champion and belongs in the discussion of the state's best.
On Saturday, the Green Knights (6-2) dominated Paramus Catholic, ranked No. 4 in the Xcellent 25 National Rankings, winning 27-0.

The defense was stout, helping to record its second shutout of the season.
The victory gives St. Joseph Regional tremendous momentum heading into the postseason, where it is the prohibitive favorite to capture a state title in New Jersey's non-public Group III bracket.
Paramus Catholic (8-1) will look to rebound from its first loss of the season by beginning its quest for a third straight non-public Group IV state title. The Paladians project to be be the bracket's No. 2 seed, and could meet Don Bosco Prep in the state semifinals.
