The numbers might not have changed much, but the postseason is here and brought about plenty of gameday action in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Evansville Memorial's senior Michael Lindauer, who scored seven total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Evansville Memorial's 56 - 14 win over Brownstown Central last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Michael Lindauer. Lindauer threw for 323 yards and five touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Lindauer as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
Michigan City has been an offensive powerhouse for eight straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It put the hurt on Concord with a conclusive 62 - 21 victory. Michigan City was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. At 83 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Movin on Up
Evansville Central will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it four spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It finished ahead of East Central by a score of 28 - 24. One star in particular for Evansville Central was junior Brennan Schutte, who ran for 128 yards and also punched in one touchdown.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Center Grove (5th in the power rankings) and Warren Central (1st). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Of course, Warren Central and Center Grove can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
