Houston's 817 yards were just 20 shy of equaling the national record for passing yards in a game according to the
MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book.

The state record now belongs to Houston, who topped the 639-yard game from
T.J. Finley of
Ponchatoula (La.) in 2018.

His 53 completions sits in a tie for ninth all-time in the nation and No. 1 in Louisiana.
Houston also ran for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the narrow loss. In six games this season he has 2,598 passing yards and 22 touchdowns. This was the fifth-straight game he passed for at least 300 yards through the air.
The 6-foot, 195-pound quarterback was on the national map in middle school and picked up offers from Grambling State, Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss and Texas Tech in the summer after seventh grade. Now he has 21 offers including LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
Against Captain Shreve on Thursday, Houston had seven passing touchdowns in the first three quarters, including a 27-yard touchdown strike to junior
Johnny Casey as time expired in the first half. Casey caught five of Houston's eight touchdowns.
Captain Shreve took a 70-62 lead with 2:15 left in the fourth quarter when Houston drove his squad the length of the field and rushed in for a 2-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game up.
Houston opened overtime with a 10-yard touchdown pass to junior
Nathan Green, but the Eagles weren't able to convert the 2-point conversion and led 76-70. Captain Shreve then scored and made the extra-point to win 77-76.
Captain Shreve was led by junior running back
Jamarcea Plater, who powered his way for 352 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries. It's the fourth week in a row that Plater has rushed for at least 200 yards. In six games this season he has 1,575 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
