In Central Texas, Class 5A power Cedar Park is faced with holding off up-and-coming Pflugerville Connally, a program that failed to make the playoffs a year ago and was a preseason pick to finish sixth in District 19-5A.
East-side Dallas suburban schools Rowlett and Sachse go into their District 10-6A showdown with matching 7-0 season records and are 3-0 in league play.

Shawn Robinson, a TCU pledge, with 1,463 passing yards and 493 on the ground. Duncanville dual-threat quarterback
Jaylin Nelson, a Texas State pledge, is a transfer from DeSoto.
DeSoto is 4-0 in league play and Duncanville is 3-1.

Bryson Smith leads Tyler with 1,615 passing yards and 19 touchdowns. Since losing their opener at Lufkin, the Lobos have won six straight. The series dates to 1912 with Longview leading 46-36 with seven ties.

Kaden Cordell (1,828 yards, 24 touchdowns). Reagan County counters with the churning legs of

Marte Allison is the New Caney rushing leader with 892 yards and 17 touchdowns. Barbers Hill is 5-1 in District 21-5A and New Caney is 5-0.
