Video: Top 10 Plays of the WeekSee the wackiest and wildest high school sports plays of the week.
The use of replay for officials is slowly making its way to the high school level.
CBS Philly reported Wednesday that the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association has approved the use of video replay technology in football for the 2018 season.
"There's no requirement; it's strictly voluntary," NJSIAA assistant director Jack DuBois said. "We're hoping to get a couple schools each week to participate."
The plan appears to be in a preliminary stage as the type of plays that can and will be reviewed isn't set in stone yet.
"As to what calls would be reviewed, it would be very minimal — probably score, no score; fumble, no fumble, that type of thing," DuBois said.
While New Jersey will be the first to use replay in the regular season, Minnesota beat the Garden State to the punch last November by using it during state semifinals and championship games at U.S. Bank Stadium (home of the Minnesota Vikings).
