MaxPreps Top 25 national high school volleyball rankings

Lewis-Palmer held on to No. 1 as the top four teams in this week's MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Volleyball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard remained the same.

However, there was a lot of movement with the rest of the Top 25, as four teams dropped out and four new teams entered.

Mercy remained No. 2, followed by last week's No. 3 Brentwood and No. 4 Jesuit.

Three top teams a week ago inched higher in the polls on the heels of state titles – No. 5 Parkland, No. 6 Benet Academy and No. 9 Bishop Kenny.

Rounding out the Top 10 are a pair of California teams: No. 7 Sacred Heart Cathedral and No. 10 Redondo Union.

New to the Top 25 this week are Amarillo, winner of 24 straight matches; Bedford, which has won 18 in a row and is one win shy of 70; Central, which snapped last week's No. 5 Bettendorf's 44-match win streak to win Iowa's large school state title, and Minnesota 3A champion Chaska.

8. (9) - Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati), 27-2
Season over. Won Ohio 4A title.

9. (11) - Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville, Fla.), 31-1
Season over. Captured Florida's 5A title.

10. (14) - Redondo Union (Calif.), 31-2

11. (18) - Aliso Niguel (Calif.), 27-1

12. (12) - St. Mary's (Lancaster, N.Y.), 47-0-1

13. (13) - The Woodlands (Texas), 38-3

14. (20) - Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma, Wash.), 32-1-2
Beat Emerald Ridge to capture its third-straight 4A state title and won final 28 matches.

15. (16) - Mt. Carmel (New Orleans), 46-2
Won state large school title with 3-0 sweep of 40-3 St. Joseph's Academy.

16. (15) - Charlotte Country Day, 44-1
Season over. Won state Independent Schools 3A title.

17. (21) - Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 39-1
Won eighth-straight non-public state title and will play in State Tournament of Champions next.

18. (NR) Ankeny Centennial (Iowa), 44-3
Won state large schools championship.

19. (22) - P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, Fla.), 30-2
Won Florida 4A state title.

20. (23) - Desert Vista (Phoenix), 41-3
Won Arizona large school state title.

21. (25) - Novi (Mich.), 50-4

22. (NR) - Chaska (Minn.), 30-3
Won every set at section finals, state quarterfinals, state semifinals and championship match to earn 3A state title.

23. (NR) - Bedford (Temperance, Mich.), 69-5-2

24. (24) - St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, Ohio), 28-1

25. (NR) - Amarillo (Texas), 43-6
Amarillo carries 24 straight wins into the state 6A tournament after knocking off previously ranked Carroll (Southlake, Texas).

Dropped out: Carroll (Texas), Jupiter (Fla.), Papillion-LaVista (Neb.), Bettendorf (Iowa).
