Meanwhile,  after soaring to 14  runs the game before, Southington was a bit more limited  in their  matchup  on Tuesday. They fell  4-1 to Mercy.
 Shelby Jordan spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
 At the plate,  Olivia Gombotz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-5 with one  run and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aubrey Perugini, who  went 2-for-6 with one  triple.
 Southington's defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 11-4. As for Plainville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
