Softball Recap: Beaver Has No Trouble Against Kanab

With a playoff win on the line, Beaver rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Kanab Cowboys. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Braylee Carter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, KaBella Low looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Jerzee Beaumont and Danzee Bradshaw did most of the damage at the plate: Beaumont went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Bradshaw went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jazlyn McMullin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Beaver's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Kanab, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-25 record this season.

Beaver wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-7 loss against Gunnison Valley on the 7th. Kanab does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
