Starkville faced Brandon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 22-14 victory over the Bulldogs. The win was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kingston Johnson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 58 yards. Graham Hancock also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

The Mavericks will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Brandon, they will square off against Northwest Rankin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
