After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Pasadena, the Blair Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 86-59 win over Monrovia. Given Blair's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Monrovia is ranked 893rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blair's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timmy Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 12 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Blair's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazsir Cammon, who scored 27 points.
Blair's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Monrovia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blair's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sherman Oaks CES at 4:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Sherman Oaks CES is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Monrovia, they will head out on the road to challenge San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
