We've got a battle between Lions coming up. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Ponder will bounce into Friday's match after beating Valley View, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Ponder never let Valley View get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Vada Cochrum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Skyler Medders was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Harlee Ponce, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Ponder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .735. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Castleberry). They blew past International Leadership of Texas Keller 20-9 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Josselyn Trejo was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Alyssa Medina was another key player, scoring five runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Ponder's record is now 3-1. As for Castleberry, their record now sits at 4-11-1.
