Honey Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Deon Morris, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Morris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Canon Ingram continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cooper, rushing for 183 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 90 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Markell Smith, who picked up 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Honey Grove's loss dropped their record down to 6-1-1. As for Cooper, their victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.

As for Cooper, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alba-Golden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alba-Golden will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 850th, while Cooper is ranked 309th).
