The Water Canyon Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the American Prep WV Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Water Canyon has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while American Prep WV will arrive with seven straight victories.
Last Wednesday, Water Canyon had to suffer through a 92-33 loss at the hands of Kanab. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Cowboys are ranked 38th).

Despite the defeat, Water Canyon had strong showings from Domanik La Corti, who posted 13 points, and Dynonte Blackmore, who had six points. What's more, Blackmore also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, American Prep WV made off with a 69-68 win over Non Varsity Opponent.
American Prep WV found their leader in sophomore Chris Monroy, who earned 25 points and eight boards. Judo Oman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
American Prep WV smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 21 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
American Prep WV pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Water Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Water Canyon has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.9 boards per game. However, it's not like American Prep WV struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39.3 rebounds.
