The Parkside Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 27 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 66-22 blowout they got at home against E.L. Haynes. That looming 66-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Parkside yet this season.
Eliajh Butts was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. Markeese Coles was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, E.L. Haynes still got an impressive performance from Jekhi Hatcher, who scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hatcher has scored all season.
Parkside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for E.L. Haynes, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkside and Paul Public Charter International will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Paul Public Charter International is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.1 points per game. As for E.L. Haynes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Capital City Public Charter School at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Capital City Public Charter School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
