Everything went Mansfield's way against Oliver Ames on Friday as they made off with a 36-8 win. That looming 28-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mansfield yet.
The game started off well for Mansfield, whose offense put up 28 first-half points. Meanwhile, Oliver Ames couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. The Mansfield defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 8 and all but finishing the matchup.
The victory was the 5th in a row for Mansfield raised their record to 6-1. Oliver Ames are still winless on the season and fell to 0-7.
After their clash against one another, the teams are taking a break from conference action in their upcoming games. Mansfield will square off against Bridgewater-Raynham at 7:00 PM next week. Bridgewater-Raynham took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Mansfield's good fortune. Oliver Ames will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against Sharon in five weeks at 10:00 AM. These teams both have had a rocky road up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece.
