Duarte has gone 8-1 against Baldwin Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Falcons will host the Braves at 6:00 p.m. Duarte is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Duarte had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Sierra Vista put an end to it on Wednesday. The Falcons fell just short of the Dons by a score of 2-1. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Allison Michels was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Michels was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Michels wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Diaz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Baldwin Park never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Nogales on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Nobles, sneaking past 16-14. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Like Duarte, Baldwin Park also got a great game from a two-way player: Trinity Carrasco. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and eight unearned) runs off 11 hits. Carrasco was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-6 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Baldwin Park got a massive performance out of Genesis Bravo, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Bravo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ariel Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Baldwin Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Baldwin Park's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Duarte, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Duarte has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Baldwin Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Duarte got the 'W' in their previous matchup on April 1st against Baldwin Park by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
