The Regis Jesuit Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Regis Jesuit beat Highlands Ranch 82-69. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Falcons are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Regis Jesuit relied on the efforts of Lucas Dickinson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards, and Eric Fiedler, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Dickinson also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Michael Price was another key player, putting up eight points.
Meanwhile, Mountain Vista had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They walked away with an 82-69 win over the Jaguars. The Golden Eagles pushed the score to 54-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.
Regis Jesuit better focus on containing Cal Baskind and Oliver Junker as the pair were huge in Mountain Vista's win. Baskind went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points and five steals, while Junker went 8 for 9 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. Baskind is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wes Baskind, who went 5 for 8 to rack up 11 points and seven boards.
Mountain Vista was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 21 assists in seven consecutive contests.
Regis Jesuit has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points over those games. As for Mountain Vista, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Regis Jesuit has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mountain Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Regis Jesuit came up short against Mountain Vista in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 64-57. Can Regis Jesuit avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
