Make it ten blowout wins for the Bel Air Highlanders this season. They claimed a resounding 63-28 win over Parkland on the road. Given Bel Air's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Parkland is ranked 1381st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rachael Silva and Mia Arambula certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Silva scored 13 points, while Arambula scored four points.
Bel Air pushed their record up to 18-3 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Parkland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bel Air will take on Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Parkland, they will play host again and welcome Hanks, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanks has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
