The Avon Braves will venture away from home to challenge the Livonia Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last five games Avon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Avon's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They didn't even let Warsaw on the board, marking the Braves' second-straight 1-0 shutout. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jessie Crye was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 13 strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double.
Meanwhile, Livonia had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Red Raiders as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Gwen Strom was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Alaina Turek was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Livonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Livonia now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Avon, their record is now 11-2.
Livonia's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Avon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 14.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Livonia, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Avon keep running through batters, or will the Bulldogs buck the trend?
Avon skirted past Livonia 4-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
