It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Dixie County Bears can now relate to. They were dealt a 56-0 defeat at the hands of Pahokee on Friday. While losing is never fun, Dixie County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Pahokee is ranked 139th).
Jenorris Wilcher jr was on fire for Pahokee: he rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Wilcher jr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Hardley Gilmore also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Dixie County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Pahokee, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Dixie County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pahokee will head out on the road to face off against Williston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Williston is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
