The Nimitz Vikings lost against the Pearce Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Nimitz fell 39-31 to Pearce. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Nimitz in their matchups with Pearce: they've now lost four in a row.
Tatum Vroonland continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pearce, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Vroonland has scored at least 25% of Pearce's points. Lauren Strange was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pearce, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nimitz will take on Panther Creek at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Panther Creek will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Pearce, they will head out on the road to face off against Irving at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Irving will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 883rd, while Pearce is ranked 356th).
