The Pius X Thunderbolts entered their tilt with the Grand Island Islanders with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Pius X walked away with a 67-56 victory over Grand Island on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pius X to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kellan Humm, who scored 16 points. Treyson Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Grand Island lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mukadi Mukoma. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with two steals. Mukoma has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Bernal, who scored seven points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pius X will take on Skutt Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skutt Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three games. As for Grand Island, they will head out on the road to face off against Bryan at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bryan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
