After a string of three wins, the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Battle Mountain, falling 60-26. Vail Mountain was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Christian Mills was Vail Mountain's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Blake Roberts was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Beau Suman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Vail Mountain's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Battle Mountain, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vail Mountain's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hayden at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Battle Mountain, they will challenge Fruita Monument at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fruita Monument is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 69.1 points per game.
