The Willow Glen Rams will face off against the Branham Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Willow Glen 1.4, Branham 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Willow Glen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Archbishop Mitty, who was ranked 25th at the time (Willow Glen was ranked 18th). The Rams fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Alanna Clincy
| 03/31/26 @ Archbishop Mitty | 9 |
| 03/27/26 @ Westmont | 5 |
| 03/25/26 vs Live Oak | 10 |
| 03/20/26 vs Ann Sobrato | 11 |
| 03/18/26 @ Santa Teresa | 11 |
Alanna Clincy was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Catalina Medina was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Branham). They put the hurt on Santa Teresa with a sharp 12-2 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Bruins, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Branham also got a great performance from Taylor Bugliarello as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophia Jones, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Douglas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Branham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Having lost for the first time this season, Willow Glen fell to 7-1. As for Branham, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Willow Glen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Branham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Willow Glen's way against Branham in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Willow Glen made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
