Denver West strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mitchell Marauders 57-6. Considering the Cowboys have won three matchups by more than 28 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
A big part of Denver West's victory came down to the chemistry between Marcelo Ortiz and his top target Robert Wittke. Ortiz threw for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes while Wittke picked up 91 receiving yards and one score. What's more, Ortiz racked up 160.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Nehemiah McIntosh got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Denver West, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Wittke, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
