The Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors 's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 68-57 to Pamlico Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jacksonville Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellen Evans, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was DJ Shiver, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Pamlico Christian Academy was led to victory by Max Cruz and James Howard. Cruz scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Howard scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Howard hasn't dropped below 16 points for ten straight games. Trent Gaskins was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Jacksonville Christian Academy dropped their record down to 9-16 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-9.
