The Roosevelt Teddies had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 57-21 win over Minneapolis South at home. The result was nothing new for Roosevelt, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Jayla Bennett was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five assists. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wren, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Roosevelt's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Minneapolis South, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will stay at home for another game and welcome Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. Minneapolis South will take on Henry/Minneapolis North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
