It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the San Benito Greyhounds can now relate to. They took a 58-42 bruising from the Longhorns on Friday. San Benito has not had much luck with United recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Atzel Chavez Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for United, throwing for 400 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also punching in three touchdowns on the ground. Chavez Jr. is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Saldana, who picked up 220 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
San Benito's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for United, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
San Benito does not have any more games scheduled as of now. United will head out on the road to face off against Westlake at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westlake will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
