Cibastian Broughton Delivers Best Effort of Season
Fleming Island came up short on Friday despite Cibastian Broughton delivering his best game to date. Broughton threw for 359 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 90 yards on only ten carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. Fleming Island is 2-1 when Broughton posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Unfortunately for Creekside, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Broughton. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Broughton saw the Knights), he threw for 221 yards and five touchdowns.

Orange Park was led to victory by Dylon Ruiz, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Ruiz rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns.
The win snapped Orange Park's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. Ruiz and Orange Park will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Rounding off our Top Five is Brian Case of Ponte Vedra. Case rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.0 yards per carry.
Ponte Vedra's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Case and Ponte Vedra will take on Middleburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
