Fox Creek hasn't had much luck against Keenan recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fox Creek Predators will welcome the Keenan Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fox Creek is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Newberry, sneaking past 45-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Predators.
Fox Creek found their leader in sophomore Jada Jennings, who posted 19 points and five rebounds. Mariah Price was another key player, putting up nine points.
Meanwhile, Keenan entered their tilt with Silver Bluff on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They claimed a resounding 62-14 win over the Bulldogs. With the Raiders ahead 45-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Keenan's win came from a few key players Fox Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tiana Randall, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taelor Lee-Sutton, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points and six steals.
Keenan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.
Keenan's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.5 points per game. As for Fox Creek, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fox Creek has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Keenan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fox Creek was dealt a bruising 63-12 loss at the hands of Keenan when the teams last played two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lee-Sutton, who went 10 of 19 en route to 21 points and seven steals. Now that Fox Creek knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
