Castlewood took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Jenkins Cavaliers a 10-0 shutout. The Blue Devils not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.
Aden Phillips was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Phillips was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jake Bush was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Houchins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Castlewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkins only posted an OBP of .250.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castlewood will venture away from home to take on Richlands at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jenkins, they will take on Cordia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
