Section 6 B - West recap Oct. 23, 2012
Cheektowaga extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 B - West this week by beating Lewiston-Porter, 24-6. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Lackawanna moved up to 395 from 438 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Steelers climbed the ranks as a result of topping Olean 58-33.
Amherst Central's dynamic duo of Tadriek Johnson and Dion Lewis proved tough for Barker/Royalton-Hartland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Johnson threw for 88 yards and Lewis had 80 yards receiving. Kasey Brown helped Amherst Central's passing attack out by catching two balls for eight yards.
Brandon Bojanowski was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 114 yards as Maryvale lost to the Raiders. Andrew Donius also contributed to the rushing game with 53 yards on the ground.
On the ground, the Flyers' Mike Wawrzyniak has rushed for 856 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sean Marshal. The Burgard star has 27 catches for 533 yards.
