Even though the Kenton Ridge Cougars have not done well against the Jonathan Alder Pioneers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kenton Ridge had just enough and edged Jonathan Alder out 49-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kenton Ridge.
Leading Kenton Ridge to victory were Canye Rogan and Ckai Rogan. Rogan scored 16 points, while Rogan scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rogan has scored at least 25% of Kenton Ridge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Smith, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds.
Kenton Ridge's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Jonathan Alder, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Kenton Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jonathan Alder, they will be playing at home against River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
