Mountain Vista extended their winning streak to nine on Monday, bumping their season record up to 12-5 in the process. They blew past the Castle View Sabercats 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Chase Ruden, who gave up just four hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Castle View off the board. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Ruden.
At the plate, Anthony Mitchell and Alex King did most of the damage at the plate: Mitchell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while King went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. On Castle View's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Feldhake, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Feldhake is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
