Pittsburg has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Rivercrest Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pittsburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Harleton 44-23. The team ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Meanwhile, Rivercrest's and Miller Grove's game on Saturday was close at halftime, but Rivercrest turned on the heat in the second half with 32 points. Everything went Rivercrest's way against Miller Grove as Rivercrest made off with a 51-31 victory.
Alexis Carey was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anna Duvall, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Pittsburg's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Rivercrest, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Everything came up roses for Pittsburg against Rivercrest in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 75-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pittsburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
