When it comes to explaining why New Covenant Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tycen VanDerPloog. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points VanDerPloog has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Hess, who scored two points.
York Country Day's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for New Covenant Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.
