Laney took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington County on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Washington County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brashod Heggs, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Marquavion Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with two steals.
Laney now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Washington County, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laney will take on Westside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Laney in Georgia (Westside is ranked 24th, while Laney is ranked 228th). As for Washington County, they will be playing at home against Glenn Hills at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington County is facing Glenn Hills at the right time seeing as Glenn Hills is stuck on a 20-game losing streak.
