The Silverdale Academy Seahawks put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 66-56 win over Ezell-Harding Christian. Given Silverdale Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Ezell-Harding Christian is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silverdale Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kennedy Okpara, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. Okpara has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Brett Wright was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Silverdale Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Silverdale Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Loudon at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. Loudon is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lancaster Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
