Community is 8-2 against the Rockets since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Community Vikings/Viqueens will be playing at home against the Forrest Rockets at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Community was not quite the Lions' equal in the second half on Wednesday. The contest between Community and the Lions wasn't particularly close, with the Vikings/Viqueens falling 57-43. While losing is never fun, Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Lions are ranked 42nd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brooklyn Yoes, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Alyssa White was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Forrest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cascade, falling 58-29. Forrest was down 48-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Community has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Forrest, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
Community took their victory against the Rockets in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 61-36. Does Community have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
