The Kearney Catholic Stars waltzed into their match Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past McCook 53-31. Kearney Catholic might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three games by 22 points or more this season.
Kearney Catholic had a senior duo take command as Callie Squiers dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds and Londyn Carnes scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Carnes scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Colling, who scored seven points.
Kearney Catholic pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.67 points. As for McCook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearney Catholic's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Boone Central at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. McCook won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Holdrege at 5:00 p.m. on December 16th.
