The Boonville Pioneers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gibson Southern on Saturday and snuck past 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Boonville has posted yet this season.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brodey Lamb, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Novotny, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Gibson Southern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Boonville's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Gibson Southern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boonville will take on Evansville Mater Dei at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gibson Southern, they will be playing at home against Tell City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tell City is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
