Valley Mills posted their closest win since May 15, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Crawford Pirates 11-9. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Christian Lazarine and Arturo Molina did most of the damage at the plate: Lazarine scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Molina scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Molina a new career-high. Jayden Gonzales also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Valley Mills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Valley Mills' win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Crawford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Valley Mills will square off against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.23 runs per game on average), something Valley Mills will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crawford, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bruceville-Eddy at 7:00 p.m. on April 8.
