Basketball Recap: Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way Makes It 13 in a Row on the Road

Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to the Empower College Prep Wolf for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-45 victory. The 75-point effort marked Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Edger Gastelum and Josiah Martin-Johnson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Gastelum dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards, while Martin-Johnson posted seven points in addition to six steals and five assists. Gastelum is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was DeAnte Harris, who had five points and three steals.

Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Empower College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way and Dream City Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Empower College Prep will take on Heritage Academy in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
