Southmoreland took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Valley Vikings 52-20 at home. Southmoreland had a senior duo take command as Ethan Shawley gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns and Camren Phillips rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Stanley Betters made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Southmoreland's defense and their six sacks. Valley's QB won't forget Stanley Chapman anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
