This season hasn't been kind to the Continental Pirates, who are still winless after their 11th game. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 40-25 to Northwood.
Despite the loss, Continental saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Crossgrove scored five points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks. Crossgrove is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Northwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Thompson, who scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Schroeder, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Continental bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Northwood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Continental will take on Ottoville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Ottoville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Continental in Ohio (Ottoville is ranked 112th, while Continental is ranked 754th). As for Northwood, they will be playing at home against Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
