Volleyball Recap: Provo's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Provo had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Mountain View Bruins 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 8th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (102-97) Provo actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-12.

Corban Tidwell paced Provo's offense, picking up 13 kills. Tidwell got some help from Kai Jo and his 28 assists. Tidwell was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Provo's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-11. As for Mountain View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Provo will square off against rival Orem at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mountain View is set to face off against their familiar foe Payson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
