The Ripon Christian Knights will take on the Woodland Christian Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a 12-game winning streak alive.
With a playoff game on the line, Ripon Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 35-14 win. Ripon Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Ripon Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grant Sonke led the charge by rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown. Preston Zuidervaart also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, while Woodland Christian put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Stone Ridge Christian. Woodland Christian really took it to Stone Ridge Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 39-0 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Woodland Christian, who have now won ten games by 28 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Gabe Sanchez, who threw for 271 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Sanchez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Carter Lang did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 79 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Ripon Christian to 12-1 and Orestimba to 9-4.
Ripon Christian beat Woodland Christian 28-16 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Woodland Christian's Billy Hinkle, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Ripon Christian to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
